Undeclared Major Option in Ivan Allen College

The Ivan Allen College attracts students with a multitude of interests and diverse aspirations. With so many degree options, it can be difficult for a new student to choose a major from the outset of their college career. With this in mind, the Ivan Allen College is proud to offer the Undeclared Major Option. This option offers new Ivan Allen students the opportunity to take courses of interest to evaluate their interests and begin aligning and developing them with their career goals.

Many students change their major at least once during their college career. Choosing the Undeclared Major Option can help prevent students from taking courses that would otherwise not count towards their degree after a major change. About one third of incoming freshmen enter Ivan Allen College as Undeclared.

As an Undeclared student, you will work closely with the Undeclared Ivan Allen College (UIAC) advisor, Elizabeth Miller, who will help you explore college and career options to maximize the value of your education in the Ivan Allen College.
